Our Story
It Started with Jennifer
"Into God's arms singing and dancing"
Pinecones For Purpose™ was born from love. Our sister Jennifer was a young woman who made a difference — a nursing student and member of Gamma Phi Beta at The University of Arizona College of Nursing with undaunted courage, hope, and a deep sense of caring and commitment. When Jennifer went into God's arms, her dream of caring for others didn't end. It became our mission.
The Jennifer S. McDonald Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established at The University of Arizona College of Nursing — so that students would be inspired to make a difference in the lives of others by Jennifer's story.
Walking through the forests of the Lake Tahoe basin, we found beauty in the pine cones scattered along the trails — natural treasures that most people simply step over. We saw an opportunity to give them purpose, just as Jennifer gave purpose to everyone around her.
Today, the McDonald Endowment remains the heart of where it all began. As Pinecones For Purpose™ grows, so does our vision — to expand our support to even more students called to serve and heal. Every cone we sell carries with it Jennifer's story — keeping alive the spirit and enthusiasm necessary for healing of the whole person.

After covering production, shipping, and fair wages, profits are donated to foundations and charities supporting nursing education in the US.
